At the 2006 Veteran’s Cup in Wilmington, NC – Region III teams made up about half of all teams entered (46 of 94). As we approach the June 1 application deadline … we want to again show our Region strength by leading the country in teams for the 2007 Veteran’s Cup in Bellingham, Washington. Region IV expects to win the numbers game … but we could surprise them!
This email goes to all the team captains from Region III teams that competed in the 2006 event along with all Region III state representatives. Here is what I ask:
Ÿ All team captains … please reply and copy Tim Busch as to whether you plan to enter a team for the 2007 (or not) … please acknowledge either way.
Ÿ All State Association representatives … please forward the information below to your leagues as soon as possible so they can get information out to teams!
Let’s see if Region III can rule the day again … this time in the great state of Washington!! I am sure Tim Busch will be happy to give us a new trophy for “Best Vet Cup Region” if we do!

The Veteran’s Cup returns to celebrate its 10th Anniversary
at Northwest Soccer Park ~ the site of the first year of the event in 1998.
The U.S. Veteran’s Cup soccer tournament was established in 1998 by the United States Adult Soccer Association with the intention of providing high-level soccer to both men and women 30 years of age and older. The current Veteran’s Cup tournament is a 6 day event with an anticipated 130-140 adult soccer teams, comprising approximately 4,400 players, referees, family members! Teams now compete in women’s and men’s brackets that include Over 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60!
This year an Over 60 women’s bracket has been added and has six teams already registered (more than any other bracket)!! The Over 60 women are very passionate about their play and definitely very serious and organized about competing in their first National Tournament!
