Class of 2007

David Plumb arrived in Tulsa in 1974 and began organizing adult and youth soccer. A native of London, England, David came to the United States to work with British Airways at their offices in Chicago. A soccer player since his school days in England, David’s soccer interests in Chicago followed him to Tulsa where he began instructing referees and became the state’s first State Referee Administrator. As a coach, David led his team to three state championship titles and his adult teams to numerous victories. His expertise in officiating was used to develop the first collegiate referee unit in the Tulsa area.
In 1980, David became the head soccer coach at Oral Roberts University and continued his work with the Tulsa Roughnecks as their game day operations manager. His influence on coaching and officiating during Oklahoma’s early years of soccer continues today.
