The new player initiative formats take effect Fall 2016, and these are the new roster sizes from USYS.

6 and Under (4v4): The maximum team roster size is eight (8).
8 and Under (4v4): The maximum team roster size is eight (8).
10 and Under (7v7): The maximum team roster size is twelve (12).
12 and Under (9v9): The maximum team roster size is sixteen (16).
U13-14: The maximum recreational team roster size is eighteen (18).
U15-19: The maximum recreational team roster limit is twenty two (22).
13 & Older (11v11): The maximum competitive team roster size is twenty-two (22).
