Recreational League Structure Information

OSA has developed this information sheet to help you understand the leagues offered to our members, so that your teams and players can participate in the right level and program. Please refer to the league policies for more information. For instructions on how to submit your teams to a league, please click on the following link: OSA League Submission

Recreational In-House (Closed) League
The Recreational Program is a developmental soccer program for all youth players. Assigning players to recreational team rosters on the basis of talent by the use of tryouts, invitations, recruiting, or similar processes is prohibited. Recreational players may not be “cut” from a team. Clubs will form their own teams, rosters and scheduling. Closed leagues may consist of another club or clubs interplaying if registration numbers require additional teams to form a league.
Cost: Only player registration required.
How to register – Player and team registration is governed by the club in GotSoccer.
Under 6 & Under 8 players can be register as a pool and assigned to rosters by the club.
How League is scheduled – Club and/or inter Clubs will schedule.

Traveling Open Recreational League
Traveling recreational teams in Under  9-19 age groups are formed by clubs according to the existing OSA Team Formation Policy (See Recreational League Policies & Procedures). Recreational teams from clubs in the same area will be scheduled by OSA for fall and spring competition. Recreational teams can be subject to promotion to the OSA Recreation Select League based on team performance.

Traveling Recreational Select League
Recreational Select teams are formed by clubs as friendship teams in the Under 9–19 age groups. Friendship teams are designed to offer players the opportunity to play with friends from school, church, scouts, neighborhoods, etc. As a Traveling Recreational Select league, teams from clubs in the same area will be scheduled by OSA for fall and spring competition. Recreational Select teams will typically offer a higher level of competition than regular (closed or open) recreational soccer leagues.

Travel During Severe Weather  - Safety to our members is always our top priority at OSA. Due to the potential for severe weather in every season, please check with the complex where you are scheduled to play to ensure that it is open. If it is not safe to travel please contact your opponent as early as possible for information and site situation. Clubs should consider contacting opponents who are traveling to forewarn them of complex closures or time/field changes due to severe weather conditions. Referee assignors should be informed of any changes to schedules due to severe weather conditions. Good luck on the pitch and please be safe.
