RISE magazine selected Broken Arrow High School Thomas Shannon as Gatorade Oklahoma Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year
In its third decade of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade joined with RISE Magazine to name senior midfielder THOMAS SHANNON of BROKEN ARROW HIGH as its 2007-08 Oklahoma Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year.
US Youth Soccer, the largest youth sports organization in the United States, today announced that it has made funds available to 28 different groups nationwide as part of its 11th annual grants program cycle. Amongst the 28 programs, through its partnership with adidas, US Youth Soccer awarded $85,000 of grants for 2008.
In all, US Youth Soccer awarded $85,000 to 14 TOPSoccer and 14 Soccer Start soccer groups through its annual grants program for soccer development. Since 1998, the organization has made over $2 million available for the growth of the game of soccer through grants and other financial support.
Oklahoma's South Lakes Soccer Club TOPSoccer received one of the 14 grants.

Kohl’s Festival and Mazzio’s Governor’s Cup experience a wonderful weekend of soccer fun!
102 teams traveled to Lawton on May 3-4 for the recreational state championship (Governor’s Cup) and the Kohl’s American Cup Festival and enjoyed great soccer and beautiful weather. Tournament photos are posted each site.

Oklahoma Alliance and Tulsa Spirit will join the Women's Premier Soccer League for matches this summer beginning in June.The Women's Premier Soccer League is an independent national league whose main focus is on the development of highly competitive amateur women's soccer teams.
The WPSL also makes every effort to bring quality soccer to all levels of the community and to promote the stature of female athletes as role models for our youth. The WPSL was formed in 1998. It is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) as an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the ruling body of soccer in the United States and FIFA the world's ruling body for soccer.
The Oklahoma teams will be playing in the Big Sky South Division.The Tulsa Spirit will be coached by Ali Adibi and the Oklahoma Alliance will be coached by Jimmy Hampton.
Both teams will feature college graduate, collegiate and high school players from Oklahoma.
All Tulsa Spirit home games will take place at the Tulsa Union Eighth Grade Center - 6501 South Garnett Road, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. Oklahoma Alliance home games will be played at a site to be posted here at a later date.

Dria Hampton of Edmond will join the US Women’s National U18 camp in Sunrise, Florida on May 3rd-10th.
Congratulations to Dria.
Boyd Okwuonu of Tulsa and Samuel Coleman of Norman attended the US Men's National U17 camp in Bradenton, Florida on April 23-27. Those selected will be eligible to play in the 2009 U17 World Cup in Nigeria.
