Fall 2008 information

The 2008 Fall OPL will consist of the top six teams from this past Spring OPL season in the U12-U15 age groups (U11-U14 last spring). The U16 (U15 last fall) will be the top six from last Fall OPL season. Frontier and Green Country will promote whom they deem the top team in each of the U12 through U16 age groups. The U17 and U19 age groups are open to all that wish to participate. The invitation list is below, once we receive the promoted team names from the countries we will update the list. This includes PLW teams.

· Teams must return 51% of last years players to remain in the OPL. 51% is defined as half of last year’s roster plus 1. If last year’s roster had an odd number, the total will be rounded up. This is based on your roster that was filed with the countries. If members were never officially dropped from your roster they will be counted.

Current OPL and promoted teams that do not retain 51% of last year’s rostered players may request to remain in the OPL. In the absent of qualifying teams may be considered by the LOC to retain their current status. To be considered please completed the OPL application by the application deadline.

· Application fee - $175 Performance Bond $250 Performance bonds are to be submitted by teams, not clubs. They are to insure that teams show for scheduled matches and obey club rules, such as no warming up in goal boxes, no pets, no weapons, etc.

· Coaching conflicts – two teams only - if more than two teams, must submit an assistant coach’s name.

· Each team can choose 4 no play dates (4 individual dates or two weekends) These must be submitted with application. We will accept changes up until August 8th or when schedules are posted. Whichever comes first.

· No reschedules (other than field closures or weather) - play or forfeit. Games scheduled on Saturday and Sundays only. Only one game per day will be scheduled.

· OPL Coaches are required to have a National “D” coaching license. A copy of the coaching license must be submitted.

· Volunteer Disclosure Statements will need to be submitted for all adults that will be working with the players, such as coach, assistant coach, manager, etc. (Wait to submit, hopefully soon we will be able to directly enter those into the Got Soccer Program, watch for details)

OPL is no longer using Roster Pro rosters. Rosters must be generated from the Got Soccer Program.

In order for your application to be completed and your team accepted the following must be submitted to the OSA Tulsa Office, P. O. Box 35174, Tulsa, OK 74153 after online application is submitted:

1. payment of $175

2. Performance Bond of $250

3. League roster - insuring 51% returning players

4. Copy of Coaches “D” license or above

5. Volunteer Disclosure Statement for coach, assistant coach, manager, etc

note: although you will receive an accepted notification from the Got Soccer program after you apply, you are not truly accepted until your roster has been confirmed 51% returning players.

OPL REFEREE FEES

Referee fees for the upcoming Fall OPL season are listed below. Once the schedules are completed we will post the total cost per team and due date. Please submit payment to the OSA-Tulsa Office, P.O. Box 35174, Tulsa, OK 74153-0174

Under 12 $48.50 per team per game
Under13/14 $52.50 per team per game
Under 15/16 $60.00 per team per game
Under 17-19 $67.50 per team per game

Teams will choose two no play weekends or 4 individual dates for games not to be scheduled. PLW teams will not have OPL games on PLW weekends. NO RESCHEDULES

Unless a date is noted as a no play date or weekend, your team should plan on playing at least one day of each weekend.

***Teams must play in their proper age group in OPL and PLW (no play ups)

Note: If a team gains a wild card spot to the USYS Southern Regional’s through PLW they automatically will gain one of the spots for their age group the following year. All Teams that earn the chance to play in the PLW have to meet the 51% rule after tryouts. This will be checked and enforced.

Updated Rule for Misconducts

Any coach, player or spectator ejected from an OPL or PLW match, must sit out their next OPL or PLW scheduled match. If a player receives a red card for “Violent Conduct”, the player involved is required to sit out one match for the red card and a second match for “Violent Conduct”. If the “Violent Conduct” is noted as fighting, all players or coaches involved will be required to sit out two additional matches. If a player, coach or spectator leaves the bench area and enters the field of play and is noted by the game official as participating in a fight, the player, coach or spectator involved will not be allowed to participate in another OPL or PLW match until a hearing can be set up for the actions involved.

GAME FORMS

what to do with game forms after your game

After each OPL match referees will return the game forms (for both teams) to the winning team.

In case of a tie forms will be given to the home team. The home team is the team listed first on
the schedule.

It will be the responsible of the winning team to see that the game forms are
returned to the Tulsa OSA during that week.

The original game forms must be turned in.
Once forms are received scores will be posted. For quicker postings you may fax or scan
and email your game forms, but the originals must follow.
