August 4 was the annual fitness and recert class for referees of grade 7 and higher or grade 8 referees who wished to upgrade for 2008. The fitness began promptly at 8am and the classes began at 10:30 with a BBQ lunch provided.

Fitness Awards - each age group was award prizes for finishing at the top of their respective age groups for the most laps run in 12 minutes, the fatest 50 meters, and the fatest 200 meters.
