Each year the State Referee Committee accepts nominations for Youth Referee of the Year. This year’s nominee, Andrew Mai, was nominated and selected from among a number of applicants. The Ponca City referee became an 09 referee in 2005 and then quickly worked his way to grade 08.
During the summer of 2010, Andrew attended the ODP referee camp at Oklahoma University along with 14 other young referees. After that camp experience, he quickly involved himself in more soccer matches throughout the state. He became a fixture at such tournaments as Beat the Heat and Ponca City’s Woodridge Cup.
Andrew will be eligible to officiate in the Southern Regionals held in June in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Congratulations, Andrew Mai.
