U.S. SOCCER ANNOUNCES NEXT DATES FOR
A-SENIOR, A-YOUTH AND B COACHING COURSES

CHICAGO (Jan. 4, 2018) — The U.S. Soccer Coaching Education Department has announced the dates and locations for the next series of A and B courses. All courses will be held in Kansas City, Kansas at the newly finished, state-of-the art National Development Center (NDC), which is designed to maximize the development of coaches at all levels.

Set to open soon, the Kansas City facility, a joint venture between U.S. Soccer, MLS club Sporting Kansas City and Children’s Mercy Hospital, will serve as the permanent home of U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Department, SKC’s training home and Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center among other player, coach and referee development uses.

20171115 KC Coaching Center Project

The Coaching Education Center within the NDC features multiple components that will streamline the coaching education process like never before. U.S. Soccer will utilize two locker rooms, four classrooms with operable walls for courses and seminars, six breakout rooms ideal for small-group interaction, as well as a cafeteria for meals throughout the day.

“This place was built specifically for coaching education,” said Scott Flood, U.S. Soccer Manager of Coaching Programs. “It’s the first facility of our time, and it will provide a terrific opportunity for coaches to develop.”

Less than 50 yards north of the Coaching Education Center’s entrance, U.S. Soccer will have exclusive access to a one-of-a kind pitch lab that will be center for on-field instruction, two full-size, synthetic turf fields with LED sports lighting, permitting year-round usage in all weather conditions.

U.S. Soccer will host one A-Senior, one A-Youth, and three B courses in mid-2018 at the NDC. The application window for the A-Senior course will be Jan. 4-17. The application window for the A-Youth and B courses will be Jan. 4-21. Interested applicants should review the course details and pre-application checklist below. All applications must be submitted through the Digital Coaching Center (DCC) .

These higher-level courses will span three to six months at a time and take place over a series of face-to-face meetings. Candidates will have an opportunity to practically apply what they have learned in their home environment with their own team between meetings. U.S. Soccer staff will travel to assess candidates in their home environment for the A-Senior and A-Youth courses. Regional assessment centers will be organized for the B courses.

Participants at U.S. Soccer’s National Coaching Schools will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized license from U.S. Soccer, a member of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.
